Bio
Hollie Garrison is a designer, creative strategist, and communications leader with more than 20 years of experience in visual storytelling and brand development. As Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications and University Creative Director at Loyola, she leads a cross-disciplinary team advancing the university’s brand and elevating creative standards across campus.
She joined Loyola in 2015 after more than a decade in agency work, including five years as Senior Studio Designer at Peter Mayer Advertising. There, she helped develop national marketing campaigns for clients across tourism, hospitality, dining, finance, and telecommunications—honing her ability to balance creative vision with execution under pressure. Since then, she has helped guide the university through major transitions in leadership, messaging, and institutional strategy, bringing both clarity and precision to every project she leads.
Hollie is especially passionate about print media and environmental design, and the power of physical objects and spaces to shape how we perceive, value, and interact with the world around us. Her work has earned recognition from ADDY, CASE, EAA, and the Collegiate Advertising Awards.
Born and raised in Thibodaux, Hollie always knew New Orleans was her real home. She became a proper resident in 2010 and has been proudly rooted in the city ever since. Off campus, you’ll find her costuming, painting, building, cooking, biking, working with local animal rescue organizations, and forever advocating in defense of the Oxford comma.
