Policy: Websites for Individuals

(Loyola Community) Personal Websites

  • Website space is available to all active members of the Loyola community. Each valid Loyola user account is pre-assigned website space in the user directory. Faculty/staff should apply for expanded website space on the university server through the Office of Information Technology.
  • While individuals’ personal websites must comply with all of Loyola University New Orleans’ graphic standards, Web Communications does not assume responsibility in creating, modifying, or maintaining those pages.

Loyola Faculty/Staff Websites

Faculty/staff websites linked to the official university homepage are restricted to academic use (course assignments, publication of syllabi, e-mail communications, and research), should include only professional information related to teaching and research, and cannot be used for commercial or private business use.

Faculty/staff websites must adhere to all rules of the university as stated in The Staff Policies, Procedures, and Benefits Manual, the Faculty Handbook, and other official statements of university policy.

Faculty/staff websites must include the following:

  • Name and e-mail address of the individual responsible for maintaining the pages
  • Credentials
  • Brief biography
  • University address
  • Date of last update
  • Link to the appropriate departmental homepage

Student Personal Pages

Loyola University’s policy allows enrolled students to publish individual websites accessible through the Loyola server. They must adhere to university website policy and other university policy as stated in the Student Code of Conduct.

Opinions expressed in these pages are strictly those of the site authors, and comments on the content of these pages should be directed to the site authors. Any pages in violation of official university policies and/or contrary to standards reflecting institutional philosophy will be subject to immediate removal from the university network.

  • Student websites cannot be used for commercial use or private business.
  • The university logo cannot be used on individual student homepages.
